Heroic system recovery for mere mortals—on the older Mac you're actually using. Versions of Classic still run on macOS all the way back to (gulp) macOS Jaguar. Current versions are Apple silicon native, and all make bootable HFS+ and APFS copies.
Tahoe (via the current beta, offered automatically), Sequoia, Sonoma, Ventura, Monterey, Big Sur — all the way back to macOS High Sierra (10.13). Apple silicon native, with fully bootable HFS+ and APFS backups.
Every feature you've relied on for two decades—refined.
Update a clone to exactly reflect the original in just minutes—only what changed is copied.
Banishes "disk full" errors to the land of wind and ghosts—with no speed penalty.
Ensures your backups happen whether your Mac is awake or asleep.
Create and copy from APFS snapshots for point-in-time backups.
Smart Update alongside Time Machine, and even copy your HFS+ Time Machine to a larger disk.
Flexible scheduling, AppleScript support, Dark Mode, and an extensive task-based User's Guide.
The current SuperDuper! Classic covers macOS High Sierra (10.13) and later. For earlier systems, download the last version that supported them — each still makes a bootable backup on the OS it was built for.
IMPORTANT NOTE: versions before v3.12 have documented security issues. Please review before use.
A note for the vintage crowd: USB drives can't boot PowerPC Macs — that's a macOS limitation, not a SuperDuper! one. Backups to those drives are still fully restorable.
Which macOS versions are supported, Classic vs. 4, Smart Delete, Time Machine — it's all in the Classic FAQ.
