MB Destroyed. Can a SD Backup Build a New MB?
My MB got destroyed and can't be repaired. Fortunately, I did a SD backup 2 hours before it was trashed. I've purchased a new MB. Since I don't have the old MB available, I won't be able to run the MacBook migration wizard to transfer data and programs from the old MB to the new MB. After I run the registration process on my new MB can I use my old MB SD backup and boot from it and transfer all data and programs to my new MB? I'm concerned that the serial numbers of the two MB's not matching may cause a problem with the SD rebuild.
