The drive name of the clone and it's effect on symbolic links
Dave helped me out on a thread yesterday after some unexpected (by me) behavior with symbolic links, Dropbox, Migration Assistant and SuperDuper.
But now I'm thinking about the name that I give cloned drives. Dave pointed out that when symbolic links are copied by SuperDuper they are left entirely alone. Does this mean it is a good idea to name the clone drive exactly the same as the source if one intends to boot and run from it? I usually give the clone a different name but now I'm a bit puzzled. I can't find a stipulation like this in the FAQ or the instructions. |

Most symlinks are created relatively, but if there are volume names there, yes: name the backup the same before starting up from it...
