Single FW Drive Use by Two Computers
I have a LaCie FW drive with two partitions, iMac Clone and PB Clone.
Currently I plug the FW drive into the iMac when performing a SD clone. When finished, I unplug it from the iMac and plug it into the PowerBook and perform a SD clone. It it possible/safe to use the FW drive as a shared drive by say, plugging the FW drive into a Firewire hub and plugging the iMac and PowerBook computers into this hub? Or is it safe to leave it plugged into the iMac since it's the stationary computer, and plug the PowerBook into an unused iMac port when needed for SD? Many thanks in advance. |
