Maiden voyage
They say there's no such thing as a stupid question, so here goes. I have an iMac with a LaCie 250gb external hard drive which I've partitioned for movies and for a bootable clone. I've already populated the movies partition so thoroughly that they would overwhelm my internal 80gb hard drive. I'd like to take the first step with SD and store a bootable clone in the other partition, but need reassurance that my movie partition won't be erased as well. What do you think? Can I press the button?

fawomack -- "Erase, then copy" only erases the target volume, not the physical device. SuperDuper! won't erase the Movies partition unless you select it as a destination.
