Back up 800 firewire ext hard drive
I am currently an owner of Super Duper v 2.5 and I would like your advice.
I have a 15" mac book pro OSX 10.5 with one 800 firewire port. I am using an external hard drive (LaCie d2 Quadra) via the 800 firewire port to store and edit video. Since the only copy of these video files is stored on the external hard drive I need to back them up to a second external hard drive (another LaCie d2 Quadra). Since there is only one 800 firewire port would you recommend daisy chaining the second hard drive to the first (there are 2 800 firewire ports on the LaCie) and using Super Duper to backup the first drive to the second? Would another, slower connection (400 firewire) for the second hard drive directly to the mac book pro be preferable? Any other ideas? |

I think either would work, actually, although a FW400 drive should is likely going to be just fine for backup purposes.
