System Crash - Maxtor One Touch and SuperDuper
Trying SuperDuper for the first time and while backing up to my external firewire Maxtor One Touch I got about 1/12 of the way through backing up my entire harddrive when I got the "grey screen of death" (like the blue screen of death for Windows).
Reading through this forum on other "system or kernal panics" I did the following: -installed and ran disk warrior to verify drive -installed and ran memtest 3 times to verify memory validity -repaired permissions -rebooted and tried again Same grey screen of death (please restart your Mac...) So here is the log file (panic.log) that you requested from another user and I am hoping it will provide info to help me get beyond this point as your software appears to work for so many others: ********* Mon Aug 29 21:20:00 2005 panic(cpu 0 caller 0x0022F7F4): HFS: corrupt VH on Macintosh HD, sig 0x0000, ver 0, blksize 0 Latest stack backtrace for cpu 0: Backtrace: 0x00095544 0x00095A5C 0x0002683C 0x0022F7F4 0x0022E298 0x000F7C60 0x000EB11C 0x000E78F0 0x000EB168 0x002A7A94 0x000ABCB0 0x743B6469 Proceeding back via exception chain: Exception state (sv=0x32EF0C80) PC=0x9003D84C; MSR=0x0200F030; DAR=0xE0006000; DSISR=0x42000000; LR=0x00002FE0; R1=0xBFFFFD80; XCP=0x00000030 (0xC00 - System call) Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 8.2.0: Fri Jun 24 17:46:54 PDT 2005; root:xnu-792.2.4.obj~3/RELEASE_PPC ********* Tue Aug 30 02:43:26 2005 panic(cpu 0 caller 0x0022F7F4): HFS: corrupt VH on Macintosh HD, sig 0x0000, ver 0, blksize 0 Latest stack backtrace for cpu 0: Backtrace: 0x00095544 0x00095A5C 0x0002683C 0x0022F7F4 0x0022E298 0x000F7C60 0x000EB11C 0x000E78F0 0x000EB168 0x002A7A94 0x000ABCB0 0x743B266C Proceeding back via exception chain: Exception state (sv=0x32DCD000) PC=0x9003D84C; MSR=0x0200F030; DAR=0xE0006000; DSISR=0x42000000; LR=0x00002FE0; R1=0xBFFFFD80; XCP=0x00000030 (0xC00 - System call) Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 8.2.0: Fri Jun 24 17:46:54 PDT 2005; root:xnu-792.2.4.obj~3/RELEASE_PPC Your help is greatly appreciated! nickcollision |
