thanks-

i just had this same problem with my older computer. when i got my MBPro, i used my old G4 as an iTunes server and connected it to my stereo. it's been a while since i ran the back up on the G4. but when i did today, the destination volume file said out of space even though the disk image was the same size as the hard disk. i'd deleted some old directories from the G4 a couple months ago that i didn't need anymore, which amounted to about 8Gig, so that i could put more music on the G4.

based upon your description of the problem, i simply mounted the disk image backup, then deleted from the mounted disk image a few of the same directories i'd deleted from the G4 before. this freed enough space on the disk image that when i re-ran superduper, it successfully completed the back up. this way i didn't have to erase everything and start anew.

anyway, it seemed worth sharing.

i hope superduper stays around for many years to come. i've been using it for years and still like it a lot- thanks for keeping it going!
