Restore to internal drive (MacOS Ventura)
My permissions on my iMac got hosed. Two weeks of non-help from Apple Support.
So, I booted from my last SuperDuper! bootable backup and my computer environment is fine. Now, I want to restore the bootable backup to the internal drive. I nuked my internal drive and now have in disk utility: APPLE SSD AP1024N Media Container disk1 Daves_Disk01 I tried to do a restore and got: Restoring “Daves_Disk01” from “Backup_SuperDuper” Validating target... Validating source... Failed to create source stream for replication Volume replication failed - Operation not permitted The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error 1.) Operation failed… And, new volumes appeared under Daves_Disk01, so disk utility now shows APPLE SSD AP1024N Media Container disk1 Daves_Disk01 Daves_Disk01 ASRDataVolume_8397 How do I restore? |
Clean install the OS to the internal drive. When prompted to restore during first boot of the fresh install, select the backup.
