Be gentle to my server, but here’s a quick little (3.5MB) movie of Ketzl in her wheelchair at the beach in Chatham, MA over Memorial Day.

Thanks for sharing. Been wondering how things were. Glad to see that tail up wagging.

Yeah, she’s pretty thrilled (more so in some of the other little movies, but they were too high-res/long to post here).

Hi Dave:
I purchased SuperDuper! a little while ago and It is really great!
I just discovered your blog and read about Ketzl. You and your family are very courageous. Reading about Ketzl was difficult and I’m not even related. I can only imagine how hard it must be for you and for Ketzl. You are doing a remarkable job which reflects itself not only in how you are caring for Ketzl but in your software.
I wish you, Ketzl, and your whole family the very best and I will be thinking of you.
BTW, my Mom lives in Mashpee. I live cross country in Los Angeles and I love the Cape. I used to spend summers in Harwichport.
Again, best wishes for you all!

Hi, Richard—thanks for the note!
The courageous one is Ketzl—we’re just the support system. And she’s still doing as well as she can: we just took her swimming today, with a life jacket to help the buoyancy of her rear end, and she had a great time.
Thanks for the good wishes. And, really—I don’t want this stuff to be difficult to read or depressing, but hopeful: if you have a dog with this kind of problem, or known someone who does, there are ways to give them the gift of mobility again…
The Cape to LA—can’t get more opposite coast than that! Maybe we’ll run into you on the Cape sometime: look for the dog with wheels!

Not depressing at all...just inspiring! I miss the Cape and it would be great to meet you and the fabulous Ketzl someday soon.

Good: inspiring is definitely more along the lines of what I wanted.

Nice update Dave. She looks very happy, but as a dog owner I must say it’s difficult to watch and not feel.
